Upper Extremity Movement and Postural Education with Dr. Skefich, chiropractor

$15This is a class dedicated to neurological and subtle exercises that will help you to “find” muscles and learn movement patterns that support your arm movements for the rest of your life. Through posture and movement, this class is supportive to your whole body and lifestyle.
The class is $15 for the hour (or $13 each if you bring a friend or partner).
Dr. Skefich trained with Master Bernie Langan for 5 years in the east bay area during the time she lived there. Bernie taught his students “HOW” to move. His teachings were not about memorizing a choreographed set of “tai chi” or “chi gung” motions, but more so, “how” to use the continuum of connected joints, muscles, fascia (and your neurology) in a way to where your movements become more efficient,…in a way that makes you much more strong.
Dr. Skefich has worked to integrate the “practice” of these motion principles on a daily basis since that time, and she attributes her ability to comfortably work 8-9 hours per day over a chiropractic table to these principles.
Sylvia has fun making concepts that are hard to understand accessible and tangible. In Saturday’s class, we will learn these exercises:
- “The waiter’s arm lift” neurological retraining
- “My skirt is on fire” wrists and fingers mobilization
- “My hands are on fire” wrists and fingers mobilizations
- “Tennis ball in the chest” posture retraining
- “There are fishhooks in my armpits” neurological neck relaxer
- “Barrel breathing” rib mobilization exercise
Join us for an hour of re-learning how to move your upper body and arms in a way that will eventually relieve the fatigue in your shoulders, upper trapezius muscles and neck.
